MISSOURI SHOW-ME RESPONSE FOR DISASTER VOLUNTEERS

The Show-Me Response System is an electronic database of both health and non-healthcare personnel who volunteer to provide aid in an emergency or major disaster and is administered by the Missouri State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA). Our system is designed to register health volunteers, apply emergency credentialing standards to registered volunteers, and allow for the verification of the identity, credentials, and qualifications of registered volunteers in an emergency. Registered volunteers will be contacted to determine availability when there is a need for emergency personnel. Whether you are a healthcare provider with an active license, a public health professional, member of a disaster response team, or non-health community volunteer "Register Today!"

Statewide registration is available for the Missouri Emergency System for Advance Registration of Volunteer Health Professionals (MO-ESAR-VHP), i.e., Show-Me Response, local Medical Reserve Corps Units, Specialty Teams, and General Volunteers. Have questions, visit our FAQ page or contact us.

WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO REGISTER FOR DISASTER SERVICE?

During the on-line registration process you will be asked to enter information regarding your license (if applicable), information about the best way to contact you, and other relevant background information. Once registered, your credentials will be validated - before an emergency - so that when the need arises, you can be deployed quickly and efficiently. Your information is for official use only and will only be viewed by authorized system managers.

ONCE I'M REGISTERED, WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

During an emergency or disaster event, (e.g., public health emergency, flood, mass care incident), this system will be accessed by authorized medical / health or specialty team officials at the State Emergency Management Agency, or your local County.

If a decision is made to request your service, you will be contacted using the information you enter on the site. If you agree to deploy, you will be provided additional information and instructions by appropriate field operational officials.

Registered volunteers are encouraged to join a local Medical Reserve Corps Unit or Specialty Team (if applicable) to receive training and participate in public health and preparedness activities throughout the year.

All reasonable efforts, in accordance with the federal guidelines for Emergency System for Advance Registration of Volunteer Health Professionals (ESAR-VHP), have been made to ascertain the credentials of individuals interested in becoming a volunteer.
